In 1978, the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee convened, awakening the ancient land of China once again with the winds of reform. Under the new hopes brought by the Party's reform and opening-up policy, they felt their way across the river by touching the stones, daring to forge ahead, bravely experimenting, and overcoming numerous hardships. Among them are pioneers like Ma Chen, who fought through adversity to become a big entrepreneur; Dong Wangchun, an innovative good cadre idolizing Jiao Yulu; Tian Feng, a farmer leading his village to prosperity during the rural reform wave; Liu Ying, an engineer who won complete independent intellectual property rights for China's electronics industry; and Liu Cheng, a loyal soldier who sacrificed himself during flood relief efforts. This resilient and courageous group of 'little people', filled with love for life, achieved remarkable reform accomplishments across various fields including urban and rural areas, military and civilian, industry, and scientific research, with unwavering courage and strong determination for reform.
