In the early 1970s in Italy, crime was rampant and political terrorism was widespread. A brave and fearless police commissioner (played by Enrico Maria Salerno) is ordered to go to an industrial town in the north to restore law and order. The recent wave of violence and kidnappings has left the town severely impacted. When a gang kidnaps his son, he faces a choice: to uphold his principles or to follow his instincts. His decision ultimately reveals the corruption within the higher ranks of the police department, leading to tragic consequences.
