 Synopsis
Xu Ji Roast Duck is a well-known delicacy on the streets of Hong Kong. Although the shop is shabby and the decor is outdated, many diners flock to enjoy the excellent roast duck skills of the owner, Old Xu (played by Xu Guo Wen). The business in the shop is thriving, but Old Xu is very harsh towards his employees. Endless overtime and meager wages lead to constant complaints from the staff, yet Old Xu manages to manipulate them with his charming words. However, one day, disaster strikes Xu Ji Roast Duck. A Western-style fried chicken shop opens across the street, and the owner, Danny (played by Ng Qi Hua), promotes his fast food with advanced concepts, quickly stealing away Old Xu's customers. Faced with a crisis, Old Xu comes up with various strategies to cope, while Danny also aims to put the roast duck shop out of business...This film won the Best Actor Award at the 1989 Las Vegas International Comedy Festival.
