 Synopsis
The novelist Zhou Shijie (Jet Li) is facing divorce from his wife Monica (Gigi Leung), and in his despair, he begins to write the script for a series called 'Adventure King', imagining himself as the adventure king Wei Yixin from the Republic of China era, while Monica transforms into the Japanese spy Kamiko, using this to vent his frustrations. The 'Wordless Sutra', obtained by Tang Seng during his journey to the West and now missing, becomes a target for both the Chinese and Japanese governments. To prevent the Japanese from getting it first, the Chinese government invites archaeological expert Wei Yixin and his apprentice A Cheng (Takeshi Kaneshiro) to trace the sutra's whereabouts. They discover a clue on the surface of the sutra box and infiltrate the Japanese consulate, where they meet the mysterious beauty Kamiko. The two then track the clue down to a certain newspaper agency, where they learn from the editor Ying Shu (Law Kar Ying) about the sutra box's location, but this information is also discovered by Kamiko.
