At the launch ceremony, Yang Xiaoming, the head of Dianfan Culture, stated: "The Yuncheng Attack is the first victory in the great counteroffensive of the Liberation War, and our army thus began the magnificent feat of a thousand-mile leap into the Dabie Mountains. This film is the first movie funded by our company, and we will continue to bring more exciting film works to everyone." The film "Yuncheng Attack" is based on the real background of the 'Battle of Yuncheng' during the Liberation War, telling the story of the summer of 1947 when the Central Committee and Chairman Mao made the decision to shift from strategic defense to strategic offense. The Liu-Deng army broke through Chiang Kai-shek's Yellow River defensive line, and the commander of the First Column, Yang Yong, and political commissar Su Zhenhua led their troops to launch the Yuncheng Attack. The commander of the Nationalist Army's 55th division, Cao Fulin, garrisoned the city, intending to use Yuncheng to block our army's advance southward and attract our besieged troops in front of the city, coordinating with the reinforcements led by Wang Jingjiu outside to annihilate our forces. The Liu-Deng army also formulated a battle plan of 'encircle but do not attack', instructing that the attack on Yuncheng must grasp the timing to achieve complete annihilation of the enemy. After the situation turned favorable for us, the Yang-Su column began the siege. After entering the city, they engaged in urban street fighting, and after a night of battle, the remaining enemies were eliminated, concluding the Battle of Yuncheng.
