The movie is adapted from true events and tells the story behind a masked man. Augusto (played by Vladimir Brichta) is an artist seeking his place under the spotlight, following in his mother's artistic footsteps. His mother was a stage artist active in the 1950s. Relentlessly seeking the applause of the audience, he found an opportunity to win their affection by becoming the most popular clown television host of the children's program in the 1980s. After putting on the clown costume, Augusto achieved unprecedented success. However, due to contract clauses prohibiting him from revealing his true identity, he became an anonymous celebrity. Augusto turned into a clown who brought joy to children across the nation, yet failed to bring happiness to his son Gabriel (played by Cauã Martins). In Gabriel's eyes, his father is a person obsessed with fame who has distanced himself from him. The film is filled with humor and irony, exaggerating the world behind Brazilian television in the 1980s. It tells a surreal story of a man searching for the value of his art and the decline of his character.
