In the turbulent final years of the Tang Dynasty, during the martial arts conference held every 18 years to reward good and punish evil, the top ten martial arts elders appointed the leader of the Yihua Palace to undertake the mission of eliminating the ten evildoers. However, this was unexpectedly stopped by the palace leader's husband, Yan Nantian. After the palace leader was defeated by Yan Nantian by a narrow margin, the couple turned against each other, vowing that 18 years later, they would teach their disciple to eliminate all ten evildoers. To express their gratitude for Yan Nantian's life-saving intervention, the ten evildoers took on the responsibility of raising his son, Xiao Yu'er (played by Andy Lau), intending to train him to become the most wicked person in the world.
