After enduring a ten-year prison life that is hard for ordinary people to imagine, a man nicknamed 'The Driver' (played by Dwayne Johnson) returns to freedom. However, he does not want to start a peaceful life; instead, he quickly embarks on a bloody revenge against his enemies from back then. Ten years ago, The Driver and his brother Gary, along with others, robbed a bank and managed to escape from the police thanks to his excellent driving skills. However, they fell victim to an ambush by another group, the cash was stolen, and The Driver's brother and partners were killed, while The Driver himself had a near-death experience. Armed with the information he has, The Driver retaliates one by one. Meanwhile, a skilled assassin (played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and a soon-to-retire police officer (played by Billy Bob Thornton) also follow The Driver's trail.
