When Andy (played by David Keith) and Vicky (played by Heather Locklear) were still in college, they participated in an experiment to make money, taking a chemical called Lot-6. They got married and now have a 9-year-old daughter named Sharin. Sharin has a special ability; she can ignite things with her mind, likely due to the experiment that Andy and Vicky participated in. At the same time, Andy also acquired some sort of superpower that allows him to make people do what he wants. The experiment was conducted by a secret government department codenamed 'The Shop,' with Dr. Joseph as the executor, who began sending people to track down the two and even sent a sniper to kill them. What they did not anticipate was that Andy and Vicky's superpowers would help them evade capture, leading to an impending showdown. This film is adapted from the bestselling novel by famous author Stephen King and directed by Mark L. Lester. The initial director selected was John Carpenter. According to Carpenter, Universal's executives arranged for him to direct The Thing (1982) for box office reasons. Martin Sheen made a hasty appearance, with his script coming from other actors at the last minute. The book 'Creepshows' written by Stephen Jones mentioned that David Keith was the fourteenth choice for the role of Andy.
