Single woman Nicole (played by Agnes Bruckner) lives alone in the house where she grew up. She has long had a strained relationship with her mother and often argues with her sister Annie (played by Caity Lotz). Her daughter is being cared for by her friend Liz (played by Kathleen Rose Perkins). Her life seems to be a mess, yet she has to face it head-on. One day, Nicole suddenly loses contact with the outside world, and worried about her safety, Annie rushes over from her place but cannot find her sister. Inside the room, strange sounds can be heard at all times. The situation escalates, with bizarre and terrifying events occurring one after another.
