In 2030, humanity, relying on super-light-speed communication technology, pushes the competition in outer space into a feverish stage. The Planetary Union Space Group seizes this opportunity to launch the Mars exploration spacecraft Mars One, but for unknown reasons, this mission ends in failure. Six years later, astronaut Mackenzie Wilson (played by Katee Sackhoff) pilots a spacecraft to Mars again, but she quickly discovers that the dominant force on the ship is actually the artificial intelligence Ardi. This leads to a heated argument with her sister Lena (played by Julie Cox), an official of the Planetary Union Space Group, but ultimately, she cannot change the established facts. The situation on Mars is unimaginable, especially since the Wilson sisters' father perished during the last mission.
