"FOLKLORE" is a horror anthology series consisting of 6 episodes (each 1 hour long), with each episode's story material derived from various superstitions and legends from different regions in Asia, including Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. In the Indonesia segment: A single mother and her son discover a group of dirty and malnourished children in their attic. In an attempt to save these children, she inadvertently angers their guardian, the ghost Gumbel, which leads to a series of retaliatory actions. In the Thailand segment: A journalist encounters the Thai ghost Boon, who admits to being involved in a murder case. Boon seeks out someone to complain to, explains the circumstances of the murder, and requests the journalist to publish his story, but he is rejected. The two then form a lifelong pact. In the Singapore segment: When a foreman and construction workers attempt to bury a girl’s body instead of cremating her, the ghost Pontianak (a female ghost who died during childbirth) is awakened. A series of unfortunate events begins to occur at the construction site. In the Japan segment: A writer who specializes in crime scenes returns to his hometown for his father's funeral, leading him to recall memories from his childhood. He then discovers a secret door in his home, behind which lies a terrifying secret from his family's past.
