In the previous episode, Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) rescued her frozen companions, but as they were leaving, they were massacred by arriving mercenaries. The T-virus caused a malfunction in the Red Queen's (played by Megan Charpentier) program, turning her into a violent, bloodthirsty entity determined to kill the last remaining humans and destroy the Earth.
