The film is based on the Disney theme park attraction "Jungle Cruise" and takes place in the early 20th century, a time of ambitious individuals and explorers. The brave and fearless scientist, Dr. Lily Houghton (played by Emily Blunt), travels to the Amazon in search of a magical tree with healing powers and hires the irreverent Captain Frank (played by Dwayne Johnson) to embark on the adventure. During this epic journey, the seemingly mismatched duo faces countless dangers and supernatural forces in the dense jungle. But as the secret of this magical ancient tree slowly unfolds, the fates of Lily and Frank, as well as the fate of all humanity, hang by a thread.
