The story is set in the near future where, due to overpopulation and famine, the government is forced to implement a "one-child" policy. Because of this strict family planning agenda, the sisters must take turns using a single identity, Karen Settman (played by Rapace). Their grandfather (played by Dauf) named them Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each person is only allowed to go out once a week. The sisters can only live freely in their apartment. Until one day, "Monday" doesn't come home...
