Legendary sniper Thomas Becket's son, U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Brandon Becket, is ordered with his comrades to travel from Afghanistan to the Congo in Africa to train the government troops there to enable them to fight back against the rebels. To evacuate a stranded white plantation owner from the Congo border, the higher-ups send Becket and others deep into the territory occupied by the rebels. After meeting the plantation owner, Becket's team is ambushed by rebel snipers, resulting in the death of all his comrades, and he is rescued by hunter Martin, narrowly escaping with his life. Becket returns to camp with the plantation owner's daughter, Kelly, but unexpectedly faints along the way... When he wakes up, his father's friend Miller (played by Billy Zane) wants to train him in sniping to give him the ability to take revenge; however, Becket, coming from the Marines, disdains the 'sneakiness' of snipers and refuses the training.
