The story takes place in the 1970s, where Zhao Yongyuan (played by Nicholas Tse) and An Ran (played by Gao Yuanyuan) are like two floating weeds battered by the wind and rain. Their similar backgrounds and grim circumstances tie them closely together. As time passes, a genuine and pure friendship develops between them.
