Gred (played by Simon Yam) is a doctor who dedicates his life to developing a new medicine that can save terminally ill patients and turn them into superhumans. With the support of his foreign mentor, he begins his research. When he achieves a breakthrough, his professor tries to steal his research results. In the ensuing struggle, the professor falls ill and dies. Following the professor's death, Gred's research receives no support and is forced to come to an end. He returns to Hong Kong with his student girlfriend. In Hong Kong, he is supported by his former classmate, current Medical Council member Zhou Zhengchun (Mike) (played by Zheng Haonan). Just as everything seems to be going well, Gred's girlfriend is drugged by Mike, which she does not tell Gred about. Later, due to Gred's long hours spent on research, his girlfriend, unable to bear the loneliness, is coerced by Mike into having an affair with him again. This time, Gred walks in on them, but due to the angle of the situation, his girlfriend sees him while Mike does not. Despite finding her boyfriend in bed with another man, she remains calm and continues to fight Mike until he is defeated. Afterward, she and Gred decide to take revenge by making Mike the next test subject. At the beginning of the experiment, Mike's physical abilities are greatly enhanced, but he soon dies due to the corrosive effects of the drug. Because of the onset of human trials, the new medicine makes significant progress. In the following days, Gred uses the new medicine on terminally ill patients, and at first, they recover quickly. However, later on, side effects appear, causing patients' bodies to rot and leading to numerous deaths. Gred regrets his actions and ultimately takes the new medicine to commit suicide.
