Eight Banners disciples

In the late Qing Dynasty, society was in turmoil. The Eight Banners youth, Wu Shibao (played by Chen Daoming), failed to inherit a title and spent his days wandering the streets, idle and carefree. One day, he met Xu Huanzhang (played by Ma Heping), a flag slave from his former residence. Xu, having risen in status, became arrogant and was publicly admonished by Shibao, which sowed the seeds of future troubles. When the Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Beijing, Xu leveraged his ability to speak a few words of Japanese to become the leader of the investigative team, and he took personal revenge on Shibao, sealing his death sentence. Wu's wife ran around to save him, allowing Shibao to temporarily escape death. While in prison, Shibao met Nie Xiaoxuan, a master craftsman of snuff bottles from the Gu Yue Xuan. To prevent his skills from being lost, Nie passed down his extraordinary craft to Shibao. Soon after, Shibao regained his freedom but learned that his wife had been humiliated and committed suicide, leaving him without family. Ultimately, he moved into his master's home and, alongside his junior apprentice Liu Niang (played by Li Dianxin), inherited the skills of Gu Yue Xuan...
