Gérard Depardieu will play Dominique Strauss-Kahn, a French economist, lawyer, and politician who is a member of the French social-democratic party, the Socialist Party, and served as France's Minister of Finance. He was elected as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund on September 28, 2007. On May 14, 2011, the New York City Police Department confirmed that Kahn was detained for allegedly sexually assaulting a hotel maid, and he is currently being held at the NYPD and questioned by police. On May 19, 2012, local time, IMF Managing Director Strauss-Kahn announced his resignation, regrettably missing out on the position of President of France.
