After enduring numerous setbacks and hardships, the newly established Do-Ritsu Ruize High School Competitive Karuta Club, which has just celebrated its first anniversary, finally has the opportunity to participate in the national competition. Seizing this chance, Chihaya Ayase (played by Hirose Suzu) reunites with her childhood friend Arata Wataya (played by Masaki Suda) after a long time. However, due to the death of his grandfather, who was his spiritual support, Arata seems to have lost his courage and goals to move forward, having long distanced himself from the karuta scene. Worrying about his state is also his destined rival—the strongest queen, Shinobu Wakamiya (played by Mayu Matsuoka).
