In the 1930s, the ghost of war hovered over the world. The Nazis believed that sorcery could help them achieve victory, and sent their henchmen in search of convenient "remedies for ruling the world." In 1936, in a remote village called Revenge Creek in West Virginia, the honest and kind-hearted Worner family welcomed an unexpected guest. Dr. Richard Woss (played by Michael Fassbender), affiliated with the North American German Heritage Academic Committee, came to stay with the Worner family. Although the family was apprehensive, they gladly accepted Dr. Woss for the sake of money and showed him sincere hospitality, not knowing that he brought unimaginable disaster with him. In 2007, police officer Ivan Marshall (played by Henry Cavill) was struggling in his life. His brother Victor (played by Dominic Purcell) had disappeared for a time. Just when he thought his brother was dead, Victor suddenly reappeared, bringing him to Revenge Creek. What hardships did Victor endure? How is it related to the Worner family's experiences in the 1930s?
