Sandra (played by Imelda Staunton) and her husband have been married for forty years. During this long period, although one cannot say they have never had any disputes, they have had a loving relationship, and Sandra deeply trusts her partner. However, one day, Sandra is shocked to discover that her husband not only had an affair but that the mistress is her best friend. Heartbroken and angry, Sandra chooses to leave and heads to London to stay with her sister, Biff (played by Celia Imrie). Although they are sisters, Biff's personality is entirely different from Sandra's. Biff is naturally outgoing and cheerful and is very good at expressing her emotions through body language. Sandra decides to take dance lessons with Biff, and amid the graceful dancing, the emotions that Sandra has suppressed for a lifetime finally find an outlet.
