Love Room

Yuki Aoki (played by Yui Aragaki) is an art student at a school of arts. She has to leave her original residence to move into an apartment because her sister is getting married. After arriving at the new place, Yuki follows her mother's suggestion to bring gifts and visit every new neighbor, making an impression on Kōji Ō (played by Ryūhei Matsuda), who lives upstairs. Later, Yuki discovers during her internship in the forestry department that the professor she is supposed to follow is actually Kōji, who lives above her. During their research on the luminescence of pine trees, Yuki gradually develops feelings for this taciturn boy. After forgetting a gift she intended for her sister at her old residence, Yuki meets the new resident, architect Shuko Kuntaka (played by Rinko Kikuchi). Inspired by Shuko's cheerful smile, Yuki designs a chair meant to bring two people closer for her upcoming competition. Yuki initially believes these two wonderful friendships herald a new chapter in her life, but a cut piece of curtain unexpectedly reveals that Kōji and Shuko used to be lovers, and her current residence is actually the place where Shuko once lived. Thus, Yuki finds herself in a complicated love triangle...
