The leader of the esteemed Nanbara gang, which has followed the yakuza way for three generations, has died. On the day of the wake, Goro, who has secretly harbored feelings for the leader's daughter Akiko (Naomi Tani), attacks her with exposed desires upon seeing her in her seductive mourning attire, but his attempt is thwarted. Whoever becomes involved with Akiko has the opportunity to inherit the gang's leadership. Knowing this, Saiji (Hirokazu Inoue), a wandering man who has a romantic connection with Akiko but is well-regarded by the gang members, goes into a rage and tries to punish Goro, but ends up failing and is left distressed. In a fit of anger, he shoots off Goro's pinky finger with a gun. After this disgraceful incident, Goro is expelled from the Nanbara gang and partners with the unscrupulous loan shark Hanamura (Kin Takagi) to plot revenge against the gang. First, Goro and Hanamura target the debts of the gang's executive Iizawa (Michiho Hino) and his second wife Kiyoko (Sumiko Minami), demanding exorbitant interest, and they kidnap and confine her daughter Machiko (Nami Aoki).
