 Synopsis
The vibrant and extreme portrayal of the Israeli director is starkly different from Kosashvili's 'Late Marriage'. The original traditional family values (in this case, Georgian) are taken further here to present a grotesque and horrific reality. In the film, women are depicted as objects exploited in the patriarchal and chauvinistic society they live in. They are kidnapped, threatened, locked in closets, and often harassed to bring shame to their husbands. On the other hand, they are always the focus of everyone's attention, embodying all of men's desires, thus they can control and manipulate men, but only to a certain extent - the head of the household (played by the outstanding actor Moni Moshonov).
