Synopsis

Living in the rural Texas strip is an abnormal family: an abusive father, a Vietnam vet with a war wound who left his impotence; a compliant wife, and a 20-year-old son who has a chaotic relationship at his father's insistence; and two little sons who look very much like their brother. The father hides a secret, and he goes to great lengths to cover it up. The young man, Jimmy, who sleeps in the shed, has suspicions but rarely comes out until a middle-aged woman arrives in town looking for a dead private detective. Why does the father keep calling Jimmy, the blue boy?
