The second segment, "Boundless Spring Color," narrates how the high official Zhan Bifeng (Li Pengfei) is deceived out of a thousand taels of gold by a young widow, Pan (Chen Ping), and is also forced to marry an old widow. The final story, "Take Care of the Emperor," tells of Emperor Tongzhi (Wang Yu) who, in his quest to indulge in pleasures, leaves the palace to visit a prostitute and ends up contracting a sexually transmitted disease, delving into historical taboos.
