The story takes place in the distant 23rd century, where 95% of humanity has fallen into extreme poverty. In an attempt to escape their predicament, people have turned to outer space, hoping to reverse the situation through the mining of alien minerals. However, they acted too recklessly and awakened unknown creatures that had been sleeping in the mineral sources. Over the past years, 1,600 local workers have been killed by these monsters. Shortly after, the monsters quickly infected suitable hosts, and the situation spiraled out of control. In an effort to thwart the monsters' invasion plan, a small team was sent to an alien planet to carry out a containment mission. Unexpectedly, the team suffered overwhelming losses, and in the moment of crisis, a man named Daniel MacPherson froze the monster with cold air, while none other than him survived. Soon after, another team was dispatched to investigate the situation, and their unintentional actions revived the sleeping monsters once again.
