The Cybertron Civil War is in full swing. In a moment of crisis, Optimus Prime sends Bumblebee to Earth, waiting for the right time to re-establish a base. Soon after, Bumblebee lands in California in 1987, only to be captured by agent Jack Burns (played by John Cena) and subsequently beaten badly by pursuing Decepticons, losing both his voice and his memories in the process. On the other hand, rebellious teenager Charlie Watson (played by Hailee Steinfeld) accidentally comes across Bumblebee, who has transformed into a Volkswagen Beetle. They test each other and eventually become very close friends, leading to a lot of funny moments. However, the good times do not last long, as Decepticon members Shatter and Dropkick track Bumblebee to Earth. They first deceive the U.S. government into trusting them, using satellite networks to locate Bumblebee, and then attempt to summon the Decepticon army here. As Bumblebee gradually regains his memories, he is determined to protect his new friends and this beautiful blue planet with all his strength...
