The film tells the thrilling coming-of-age story of the goddess of revenge, Furiosa (played by Anya Taylor-Joy). Young Furiosa is taken from her home and falls into the hands of the gang led by the warlord Dementis (played by Chris Hemsworth). As they cross the wastelands, they arrive at the fortress ruled by the immortal Old Joe (played by Lachy Hulme). While the two tyrants compete for dominance, Furiosa must survive through numerous trials and find a way back home; she gradually evolves into a fierce and formidable goddess of fury.
