After his wife Xiaolan (Yu Qixia) became pregnant, Zhang Jinqiang (Qin Xianglin) had very limited working hours in each job. Considering his low education and few skills, he didn't pay much attention to it, but after being unemployed again, he worked even harder to look for a new job, unfortunately without good luck. As they worried about Xiaolan's increasingly large belly, a newspaper that appeared out of nowhere led Zhang Jinqiang to a building where he became a security guard. Han Shu (Zhan Sen), Fat Guy (Zheng Zeshi), Mr. Hong Kong (Wang Qing), and Xiao Ding (Xu Bingsen) were his colleagues. At the start of work, while listening to Han Shu’s instructions, he noticed something strange about the elevator, but Han Shu just told him to work boldly without being superstitious. Soon, while patrolling at night with Fat Guy, he was informed by Han Shu that Xiaolan had sent an urgent message. Unable to wait to use the toilet, Fat Guy took the elevator down alone, but unexpectedly, the elevator malfunctioned and took him straight to the basement, where a horrifying scene occurred. Once calm, he told his colleagues what he saw, but no one believed him, as Fat Guy came down later without any issues, and Han Shu hadn't notified him to go downstairs either. Soon after, a group gathered in the monitoring room for a midnight snack, and when discussing the recent event, Mr. Hong Kong claimed that nothing would scare him. Just as he finished speaking, the electrical system malfunctioned, and he got choked by a dog bone, eventually dying in the hospital. On the day of Mr. Hong Kong's funeral, the master and feng shui expert (Yue Hua) was momentarily shocked upon seeing Zhang Jinqiang. Upon seeing Han Shu again, he thought it was bad news but did not say anything. Soon, Han Shu died in his own home. At Han Shu's funeral, Zhang Jinqiang informed Fat Guy and the others that the building they worked in was a gathering place for vengeful spirits and presented an old newspaper as evidence. The master then conducted a ritual in the room and during their conversation asked for Zhang Jinqiang's birthdate. It turned out he was the most likely person to be possessed by ghosts but had not been possessed. Fat Guy took Xiaolan to the hospital for a check-up; the large dog barked incessantly; the doctor felt something strange during Xiaolan’s physical examination; and Xiaolan's increasingly strange behaviors... more and more signs indicated that the child Xiaolan was carrying was a ghostly fetus.
