Alias: Le vent de la nuit (1999), Helen is a middle-aged housewife, and young artist Paul is her lover. Helen deeply loves Paul but does not know whether he loves her for her thoughts, body, or checkbook. From Paul's perspective, he also loves Helen, but feels she is overly clingy and possessive; thus, he wants to escape, sometimes using heroin as a means of escapism. One day, Paul meets renowned artist Serge, dreaming of collaborating with him in the future. Paul learns that Serge is in trouble: he participated in the student uprising triggered by the May '68 strikes, and eventually ended up in a mental hospital, while his wife also committed suicide.
