Page (Moira Shearer) is a very talented ballet dancer whose love for ballet makes her feel that she was born to dance.She participated in the ballet "Red Lingyan". In the play, she played the dancer who danced until she died in red shoes. Her performance won unanimous praise from the industry, and her acting career soared.After that, she meets the composer Julian (played by Marius Goring) and falls in love quickly.Peggy gave up her career for the sake of the loved one, but her peaceful life after marriage made her unable to bear it. It seemed that there was always a magic that summoned her to put on her dancing shoes and dance.Peggy obeyed the call of her heart, she left Julian and returned to the stage, but gradually, she remembered the dancer wearing red shoes she had played.
