This drama is adapted from a comic of the same name, depicting a mystery romance story set in the early Showa era of Kukuya Town. It follows the unique partnership between a "poor detective with keen observational skills who is deeply in debt" and a "girl with a wonderful ability to discern lies" as they solve complicated cases intertwined with "lies" and "truth," while gradually developing feelings for each other. Urabe Kanoko (played by Honoka Matsumoto), who can hear others' lies, is ostracized by the villagers and leaves her hometown. She has always believed that this ability brings misfortune, until she meets detective Inori Ayuma (played by Yuta Suzuki), who encourages her to face herself.
