In 1950, the western region of Guangxi, known for its Ten Thousand Great Mountains, awaited liberation. Bandit leader Li Hanguang (Fang Hui) and his wife Li Yuegui (Hu Minying) led a group of stubborn bandits colluding with Kuomintang agents, causing the local populace to suffer endlessly. Based on the clues provided by Leizhen Ting, the deputy commander dispatched from Taiwan who was captured by the People's Liberation Army, reconnaissance chief Zeng Tai (Yu Yang) disguised himself as his identity to infiltrate Li's bandit group.
