The story is inspired by one of Taiwan's infamous haunted buildings, located in downtown Taipei, where over 20 murders occurred within 30 years, causing property prices to be significantly lower than surrounding developments. Among the most notorious incidents was a fire in the 1980s that trapped over 300 people and ultimately claimed 19 lives. Another urban legend, known as the 'Sticky Rice Dumpling Incident,' involved a woman who committed suicide by jumping from the building due to relationship issues, inadvertently crushing a street vendor selling sticky rice dumplings below, further cementing the building's horrifying reputation and making it one of the most infamous haunted houses in Taiwan.
