Lord Vader (David Prowse) drives the Rebel forces out of their base and sends thousands of probes to search for Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The Rebel forces ambush on the icy planet Hoth, where Luke is captured by a snow beast during a patrol mission. After using the 'Force' to escape, he hears Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) urging him to go to Dagobah to train with Jedi Master Yoda. The Galactic Empire launches a massive assault on Hoth, and Han Solo (Harrison Ford), along with the Wookiee Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), escapes with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and the droid C-3PO aboard the Millennium Falcon. They temporarily take refuge at Cloud City on Bespin, run by Han's old acquaintance Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), only to discover that Lando has made a deal with Lord Vader to betray Han by luring Luke into a trap.
