The Cybertronian civil war rages on, and in a moment of crisis, Optimus Prime sends Bumblebee to Earth to wait for the opportunity to re-establish their base. Subsequently, Bumblebee lands in California in 1987, only to be ambushed by agent Jack Burns (played by John Cena), and is then severely beaten by pursuing Decepticons, losing not only his voice but also his memory.
