The New Fourth Army marched in, and the people of Jiangnan, who had suffered from the bullying of soldiers and Japanese aggressors for years, harbored a certain indescribable distrust towards those with guns. The soldiers of the New Fourth Army exhibited strict discipline and a rigorous style, quickly dispelling the local people's fears and integrating with them.
