Zhang Daoling received a letter of help from his friend, Master Wen. He took his disciple Wang Chang and went to Bashu, only to discover that his friend had died and he himself was caught up in a shocking conspiracy. Zhang Daoling remained true to his convictions, undeterred by external distractions, and ultimately prevented a local evil organization from harming the people through their malevolent rituals, while also educating the local populace.
