Detective

Geniuses and madmen are often just two descriptions of the same person. Detective Chen Guibin (played by Liu Qingyun) is such a character, having once cut off his own ear like the genius painter Van Gogh. Despite having solved countless cases and possessing extraordinary detective skills, he is ultimately deemed a madman by society and retires early from the police force. Officer He Jia'an (played by An Zhijie) receives a difficult case. The crime scene is in the woods, and after two officers, Wang Guozhu (played by Li Guolin) and Gao Zhiwei (played by Lin Jiadong), handle the case, only Gao Zhiwei returns safely, while Wang Guozhu and his gun mysteriously disappear. He Jia'an invites Chen Guibin to guide him through the confusion, but unexpectedly, Chen Guibin's 'madman' behavior once again reveals itself during the investigative process. He determines that Gao Zhiwei is the murderer and bases his reasoning on his own extensive imagination. He claims to see Gao Zhiwei's 'seven deadly sins,' which have led him down the path of crime. However, getting He Jia'an to believe all of this is not easy, as he has already been deceived by Gao Zhiwei's acting skills...
