John, a literature teacher in Pittsburgh (played by Russell Crowe), once had a happy family of three, but one day the police suddenly showed up and arrested his wife Laura (played by Elizabeth Banks) for murder. Almost all evidence pointed to Laura as the prime suspect in the killing of her boss, and even the lawyer believed that there was little hope for an appeal. Overwhelmed by pressure, Laura even attempted suicide. John firmly believes in his wife's innocence; he does not need an explanation from her, his trust in her is enough. In an effort to save his wife, John starts planning a prison break. He consults with a prison escape expert who has escaped multiple times and carefully observes every corner of the Pittsburgh prison, as a prison break plan gradually takes shape. However, the prison authorities suddenly prepare to transfer Laura ahead of schedule, leaving John with only three days. Seeing that selling their house to raise funds is not feasible, John decides to take a risky path and rob a drug dealer. This usually gentle man is determined to transform into a fierce warrior to save his wife!
