 Synopsis
It's Christmas time again, and accompanied by cheerful and warm Christmas songs, people are flocking to supermarkets in a frenzy to grab Christmas goodies, often losing their decorum in the process. After a chaotic scramble, Tom (played by Adam Scott) and Sarah (played by Toni Collette), a couple weighed down with bags, finally make it home with their troublesome children, Beth (played by Stefania LaVie Owen) and Max (played by Emjay Anthony). At dinner, relatives with distinct personalities arrive on time, filling the house with noise, but also bringing considerable annoyance to the hosts. Young Max has just been in a fight because other kids said Santa Claus doesn't exist, and at the dinner table, the taunting from his relatives' children fuels his anger. That night, a bizarre ice storm hits, and sinister monsters descend upon the world, seemingly ready to deliver a harsh punishment to the foolish humans who do not believe in Santa Claus... This film is based on German folklore.
