Synopsis

In the early years of the Republic of China, a railway from Shanghai to Chengdu was opened. The departure of the first train attracted the attention of gangs, as it was filled with wealthy passengers. As a result, they colluded with mountain bandits to prepare for a mid-journey robbery. The notorious thief Cheng Qitian (played by Sammo Hung) also had his eyes on this train; to board it, he decided to blow up a section of the railway in his hometown Han Shui Town and take the opportunity to get on the train. However, Cheng Qitian was recognized by the local security team leader, Cao Zhuojian (played by Yuan Biao), as a wanted criminal, who aimed to capture him. Cheng Qitian narrowly escaped capture and successfully blew up the railway, which inadvertently assisted the bandits, leading them to launch a full-scale attack on Han Shui Town. Seeing their hometown on the verge of destruction at the hands of the bandits, Cheng and Cao decided to join forces to resist the formidable enemy.
