Iwatani (played by Noriko Nyuyama) is a news reporter whose meticulous logic and efficient style have earned her the trust of her superiors, making her a true career woman. However, Iwatani's overly rigid and stern personality often leads to misunderstandings from those around her, causing her to be ostracized by colleagues and friends. One day, Iwatani has a conflict with her boss and is reassigned to the unpopular lifestyle information department. Meanwhile, she discovers that her boyfriend, with whom she has been in a relationship for many years, has been cheating on her. With both her love life and career in ruins, Iwatani hits rock bottom. One day, she finds a large cardboard box at her doorstep, inside which is a sleeping man. Iwatani brings the man home and learns that his name is Takezaki Takeshi (played by Jun Shison). Takeshi wants to stay at Iwatani's house, and she suggests that he become her pet, to which Takeshi happily agrees. Thus begins their cohabitation life.
