 Synopsis
"Concealed Trap - NTR -" is a yuri manga created by Kodama Naoko, which began serialization in the January 2015 issue of the magazine 'COMIC Yuri Hime' and concluded in the February 2018 issue. The Japanese edition of the tankōbon was published by Ichijinsha, while the Traditional Chinese edition was published by Tong Li Publishing, and the Simplified Chinese edition was officially published by Buka Comics, spanning a total of 6 volumes. The work has also been adapted into a television anime of the same name. The author initially intended to set the two female protagonists in a married state, but later thought that readers might not be as interested due to their older age. If the two protagonists were set to be around 30 years old, it would evoke a sense of wondering, 'Can I live my entire life with this person?', which carries a feeling of being trapped for life. Conversely, if they are set as students, it would bring about the unique emotional impulses of adolescence. The reason for both characters being female is to allow for a more authentic imagination of their feelings. The author can add various elements to shape the characters, such as annoying inner thoughts, which wouldn't be as easily included if the characters were male, as it would rely solely on imagination and guesswork. While drawing, the author found Yuma to be more challenging to portray, whereas Akari was easier to draw because she fits the author's preferred type of little devil. Since Yuma, who clearly has a boyfriend, behaves intimately with her close friend, the author had to create a character that feels like a good girl to the readers, while also making her engage in rather unlikable behavior. If not careful when drawing Yuma, she could easily turn into an annoying character, so the author tries to avoid making readers feel resentful towards her. As for Fujiwara, he has a poker face, making him easier to illustrate. The author feels that male characters are not commonly featured in yuri manga, making his inclusion a bit of a gamble in this work.
