Mark (played by Chow Yun-fat) and Zhiming (played by Tony Leung) are cousins and overseas Chinese from Vietnam, currently developing their careers in Hong Kong. However, with the outbreak of the Vietnam War, both are very worried about the safety of Zhiming's father, Uncle Song, who is still living in Saigon, Vietnam. To raise the money to bring Uncle Song to Hong Kong, they decide to help the local gang smuggle arms to Vietnam. Unfortunately, they are ambushed by the enemy in Vietnam, and at a critical moment, they are saved by Yingjie (played by Anita Mui), the girlfriend of the Hong Kong gang leader. The three of them escape disaster and spend a happy time in Saigon before Yingjie bids farewell to them. Subsequently, Mark and Zhiming successfully bring Uncle Song back to Hong Kong. After returning, the two lead a stable and peaceful life, but they have not been able to learn any news about their benefactor, Yingjie. Suddenly one day, Yingjie reappears, and the reunion brings joy to all three. However, a disaster is quietly approaching...
