John's father Frank (played by Dennis Quaid) died 30 years ago in a firefighting operation. One day, while looking through his father's belongings, John (played by James Caviezel) discovers an old radio that his father used 30 years ago. As he randomly changes the frequencies, he unexpectedly connects with a young man named Frank, who turns out to be his father 30 years ago. After talking all night, John realizes that time has twisted, and he is indeed speaking to his father from 30 years in the past. John is extremely excited and successfully helps his father avoid the disaster from 30 years ago. When he wakes up, he is astonished to find his father in the picture, now with white hair, confirming his success. However, unexpectedly, history has been completely rewritten. John saved his father, but his mother was killed years ago in a serial murder case. When John contacts his father through the radio again, trying to have him stop the murder of his mother, his father unexpectedly becomes the prime suspect!
