In China, Dr. Indiana Jones (played by Harrison Ford) makes a deal with a Shanghai gang leader, who betrays him after obtaining the ashes of Nurhaci, wanting to silence Jones. At a critical moment, the clever kid Short Round (played by Jonathan Ke Quan) saves Dr. Jones and a singer named Willie (played by Kate Capshaw) who was caught up in it all. After the three of them survive a plane crash and jump out, they drift downriver on an inflatable raft and end up in a village in India. There, the river is dry, crops are devastated, famine prevails, and the people are suffering. The locals blame the calamity on the demons of the Peng Gao Palace and see the 'heaven-sent' Jones and his companions as embodiments of gods. They ask Jones to help them recover the sacred stone and all the kidnapped children. The Palace of the Demon King is indeed bizarre; the ruler is just a little brat, the nobles feast on leeches, giant pythons, beetles, and monkey brains, and the palace is full of hidden traps. By chance, they witness a bloody cult sacrifice ceremony... This battle is bound to be exceptionally tough!
